Say goodbye to the old TinyMCE Editor and say hello to Gutenberg, the new visual editor that WordPress has been working on for sometime now (was supposed to be released in May of 2018). The jump to 5.0 promises to be a big one and whether the increased visual aspects of the new editor called “blocks” will be a big hit or a flop is yet to be seen. One thing we do know is that plugin upgrades and new security features will roll out and theme compatibility and site versioning will be a must when jumping to a completely […]
In 2014, we thought it was a good idea to buy an old hair salon on a beautiful tree-lined block in South Philadelphia. Well, this year we made the move from the wonderful storefront in Bella Vista a few blocks south to the salon. The lengthy renovations included all new hardwood floors, removal of the drop-ceiling and exhaust system (used for perms), restoration of the original crown molding and gaslight ceiling emblem, and many many coats of paint. We’re sorry to see the office on Bainbridge Street go – it was a great place (and neighborhood) to both work and […]
It was 2004. And that October, George W. Bush and John Kerry were battling it out, Usher was on top of the charts and The Lord of the Rings won best picture. Not so much in the headlines, two guys from Philadelphia decided to start their very own web and design business, and we’ve been around ever since. Thanks to everyone who has made it a wonderful decade of smart design and creative websites.
Things change. New browsers and devices are released every year. New versions of WordPress, PHP, HTML and CSS seem to pop up every other week. We’ll be happy to work with you to propose an Ongoing Support package that is tailored exactly to your site’s […]

The modern tables and chairs are all handmade and built custom with great care and quality by Rob Cortez. All pieces are built local, right around the corner, and prices for all are negotiable.
It’s no secret to anyone who works for us or with us (against us?) that we are firing on all cylinders these days at Pepper Lillie. We are blessed to regularly have as many as twenty quality projects going at one time. This success and juggling act is well appreciated and, we think, well deserved. But not seeming busy to our clients, having the same time for the same careful attention to detail and quality design, is the real trick. We are happy no one is noticing. Over the first six months of 2013 we have already reached 90% of […]
